A friend of e nad Paul received an autoobile fro his brother as a Christas present.On Christas Eve when Paul ca out of his office, a street urch was walkg around the shy new car, adirg it.
“Is this your car, Mister?”he said.
Paul nodded,“My brave it tofor Christas.”The boy was astounded,“You an your brave it to you and it didn’t st you anythg? Boy, I wish…”He hesitated.
Of urse Paul knew what he was gog to wish for.He was gog to wish he had a brother like that.But what the d said jarred Paul all the way down to his heels.
“I wish,”the boy went on,“that I uld be a brother like that.”
Paul looked at the boyastonishnt, then ipulsively he added,“Would you like to take a ridey car?”
“Oh yes, I’d love that.”
After a short ride, the boy turned with his eyes aglow, said,“Mister, would you d drivgfront of y hoe?”
Paul siled a little.He thought he knew what the d wanted.He wao show his neighbors that he uld ride hoa big autoobile.But Paul was wrong aga.“Will you s where those o steps are?”the boy asked.
He ran up the steps.Thena little while Paul heard hi g back, but he was not g fast.He was carryg his little crippled brother.He sat hi down oto step, then sort of squeezed up agast hi and poted to the car.
“There she is, Buddy, jt like I told you upstairs.His brave it to hi for Christas and it didn’t st hi a t.And so day I’ gonna give you o like it…then yousee for yourself all the pretty thgsthe Christas dows that I’ve been tryg to tell you about.”
Paul got out and lifted the d to the fro of his car.The shg-eyed older brother clibedbeside hi and the three of the began a orable holiday ride.That Christas Eve, Paul learned what Jes ant when he said,“It is ore blessed to give…”

“哦,当然想了,我太高兴了。”
车开了一会儿后,那孩子转过头来,用殷切的眼神望着保罗说:“先生,您能把车子开到我家门口吗?”
