She is not fair to ouard view

As any aidens be;

Her loveless I never knew

Until she siled on .

O then I saw her eye was bright,

Awell of love, a sprg of light.

But now her looks are y and ld,

To e they ne’er reply,

A I cease not to behold

The love-lighther eye:

Her very frowns are fairer far

Than siles of other aidens are.

人不是因为美丽而可爱，而是因为可爱而美丽。最初，诗中的“我”也未曾发觉“她”的迷人，直到爱情的光芒在两人之间闪烁。于是，在“我”眼中，“她”明亮的深眸、微皱的眉头是那么美丽动人，令人着迷。只有爱上一个人，才会明白什么是“情人眼里出西施”。
