If joy reboundg spreads the face,

Or sea of sorrows swells,

It is a drea, a py.

Apy, we each have a part

Alternate she or ra.

Thou drea, O blessed drea!

Spread far ahy veil of haze,

Tone down the les so sharp,

Make sooth what roughness sees.

No agic butthee!

Thy touch akes desert bloo to life,

Harsh thunder, sweetest song,

Fell death, the sweet release.

“梦”，这个无论贫富贵贱，人人都会做的东西，被诗人赋予了诗意。在梦里，人们可以扮演任何一种角色，或正面的，或反面的；也可以穿任何一种衣服，或正常的，或反常的；也可以做任何一种事，或是现实中能做到的，或是做不到的。梦能使丑的变成美的，能使荒漠开满鲜花，能使噪音变成音乐，能使恐慌化为安详。这就是梦，诗人笔下的梦，也是亿万人都在做的梦。
