Askno ore where Jove bestows,

When June is past, the fadg rose;

Foryour beauty’s orient deep,

These flowers, astheir caes, sleep.

Askno ore whither do stray

The golden atos of the day;

The nightgale, when May is past;

Foryour sweet dividg throat

She ters, and keeps war her note.

Askno ore where those stars light,

That downwards falldead of night;

Foryour eyes they sit, and there

Fixed bee, astheir sphere.

作品赏析

诗人不遗余力地歌颂佳人的美，六月的玫瑰、金色的太阳、五月的夜莺以及明亮的繁星，都成了他的比较对象。但在诗人的心中，玫瑰、太阳和星星都和她相差甚远，就连夜莺的啼叫都比不上她“甜蜜的歌喉”，诗人对爱人的情意表露无遗！
